Wilfredo Chiesa

Wilfredo Chiesa was born in Old San Juan and currently is a professor of Art in the University of Massachusetts, Boston. In the past thirty years, Chiesa has maintained a prolific pictorial activity at international level, making more than twenty-five individual exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States, Colombia, Panama, Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In addition participated in the biennials of Sao Paulo, Medellín, River basin, Ljubljana and Fredrickstad. His work has comprised numerous collective exhibitions in New York, Miami, Boston, Washington, San Juan, Santo Domingo, Seville, Ibiza, Catania and Venice. He has been a guest artist in different academic institutions, including, the Academy of Fine Arts of Gungzhou, in Guangdon, China, and the Ochanomizu University, in Tokyo, Japan. His works are in the collections of several museums and institutions of the Americas and Europe.
