Anaida Hernández, born in Puerto Rico, obtained her degree in the Plastic Arts of the University of Puerto Rico, and studied Engraving at San Carlos National University of Mexico.
Hernández,is a acclaimed artist, who is quite diverse in engraving, sculpture, mosaic, painting, video, public art and community projects. Her works explores matters related to the violence, seduction, power and topics related to human rights.
Hernández describes her work as Conceptual Affective Art: " Art that is conceptual in idea, sequence and structure, but includes forceful images of affection with symbolism.
Her work is part of such collections as: Arizona State University Museum, Tempe, Arizona; Art Museum of the Americas, OEA, Washington, DC.; Library of the Congress, Washington, A.D.; The World Bank, Washington, A.D.; Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, San Jose, Costa Rica; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Juan, PR, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, San Juan PR and many more.
